The South Eastern Coalfields Limited recently celebrated its silver jubilee during a gala event.
On the completion of 25 years, chief guest Coal Minister Prakash Jaiswal lauded the journey of SECL.

He also praised the company for establishing a Rural Technology Park—“Gramoday” to help rural masses in uplifting their livelihhood and living standards. The Minister advised SECL management to maintain “Gramoday” so that the benefits can reach to the needy people.

MP Dr Charan Das Mahant urged SECL to involve public representatives in chalking-out such people oriented programmes for its smooth implementation.
On the occasion, coal India chairman Partha S Bhattacharyya appreciated the excellent performance of SECL in its glorious 25 years.

He said, “SECL is the first PSU amongst 248 PSUs to take up such a dream project. Keeping in view the needs of the villagers and poor masses, Gramoday will allow these people to take full advantage of the changing scenario.”

In his welcome address, NC Jha, CMD-SECL informed about the dream project of SECL and how it will help the common masses and rural people, as their livelihood is mostly dependent on the agriculture. In the first phase, SECL will establish five Parks at various districts. However, total eight districts will be covered to extend such facilities.

RS Singh, Director (Personnel), SECL also graced the occasion.
In the second phase programme, the Minister honoured the Ex-CMDs and Directors of SECL and also presented Shields and ‘Certificate of Excellence’ to the Coal miners.
